Here’s to a Great Fall!

Sid Leavitt | September 16, 2011

Here’s to a good fall run shaping up for both the commercial and purebred cattle people!  It’s a great time to be involved in the cattle industry and the prices forecast for this fall should surely help put smiles on a few bankers’ faces.  I am a little sad to see so many dispersals in the works but I can also understand some of the thoughts behind the decision – we’re not getting any younger and when the prices are good is the best time to move into a new phase of life with some jingle in the pockets and excitement and anticipation in the heart while one still has the ability to enjoy the adventure!   So here’s wishing the best of luck to those taking the big leap into retirement or semi-retirement or simply a change of direction.

As for me, the rumor was circulating that I was also retiring – rest assured it was a rumor and I am still doing catalogues and I send my thanks and appreciation out to all of my customers for your steadfast loyalty and support for what’s been for me a “joy ride” of 16 years this fall!  Your participation in my life has greatly enriched it and I am looking forward to working with you for awhile longer!  I have a busy fall ahead and I know you do too, so with that in mind I will say adios for now and wish you all the best of luck!  Please know I look forward to hearing from you at any time for any reason – I am only a phone call away and for those of you that didn’t get the memo last spring, I have a new cell number (903-952-9392) if you can’t reach me at my home number (403-653-2450). Take care, play safe and have a wonderful fall!!!
